The Navy Memorial has chosen to honor the Coast Guard this past year to distinguish the Coast Guard’s long and diverse history. As part of this year long celebration, the NCR Cuttermen Association is sponsoring a ceremony presentation and discussion panel recognizing women and their historic contributions to the afloat community in the United States Coast Guard.

Women at Sea

Speakers and Attendees

This recognition ceremony, in honor of the first women afloat, will be held on Thursday December 4th, 2014. A discussion panel will follow featuring current active duty women and their expertise within the afloat community. This panel and recognition ceremony will not only inspire others to serve afloat but will contribute to a greater discussion on challenges and accomplishments that women have experienced in their careers serving afloat and in the USCG.

Please join the NCR Cutterman Association in this historic recognition to come together to honor those who have set the course for women at sea and to inspire others to serve! For more information or questions contact MKCS Tina M. Claflin at tina.m.claflin@uscg.mil, 202-372-1593 or find them on Facebook Women at Sea.
