Earth Day Shepard Parkway Cleanup

You are invited to attend a park cleanup at the Anacostia Shepard Parkway. The park is part of the Civil War Defenses of DC and you can still see the earthwork remains of Fort Greble and Fort Carroll.

 

DATE: Wednesday, 22 April, 2015

 

DIRECTIONS: Meet at 1200 at the P6 garage entrance (by LL5) to be picked up by GV. A GV will arrive back at HQ by 1530 for those needing to make carpools.

 

If driving or walking (1.1mi) to the site, meet at the intersection of Parkland Place and MLK Drive SE.

 

Uniform for the event is ODUs or long pants/work boots and a blue shirt (i.e. CG Unit Tee).

 

Gloves and water will be provided.

 

EXCUSED ABSENCE/LEAVE POLICY: Cleanup day is a Coast Guard work day. Coast Guard participants must be on an excused absence, leave, or RDO in accordance with regulations.
