The NCR Coast Guard Officer's Association (CGOA) will be hosting its second annual golf tournament at Andrew's Air Force Base on 24 October 2014.
All Officers, Enlisted personnel, Civilian personnel, and guests are invited to participate.
Registration ends 22 October 2014 AT NOON and can be done via the NCR CGOA website or by contacting the following POCS: LCDR Matt Moyer, LCDR Brian Chapman, LTJG Jim Feeney. Contact information is available in CG Global or via the Directory on our website.
If you sign up for this event, it is imperative that you show up. In advance of the tournament, the NCR CGOA is required to submit a roster of candidates for final payment calculation. Failure to appear will result in the NCR CGOA incurring additional charges. If exigent circumstances require your absence, please contact the POCs listed above and on the attached flyer.
In addition to the attached flyer, here are some very important details regarding the upcoming event:
DATE: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2014
PLACE: The Courses at Andrews Air Force Base (see directions and contact info below); we are playing the East Course.
TIME: 0700-0730: Registration - Payment is required to complete registration. Preferred method of payment is via pre-registration on the NCRCGOA.org website or by cash or check made out to "NCR CGOA." A registration table will be setup outside ivo Pro Shop and will be obvious.
0800: Tee Off (Scramble)
1230: Lunch and awards ceremony
COST: NCR CGOA Members: $65 - includes cart and lunch
Non-members: $75 - includes cart and lunch
WEATHER: RAIN or SHINE (event will only be postponed if the Courses at Andrews Air Force Base are closed due to inclement weather - this is not likely)
TYPE: The Tournament format is a 3 to 4-person scramble with a shotgun start at 0800. Members without a team will be randomly assigned the day of the event.
ATTIRE: Appropriate golf entire
LEAVE/EXCUSED ABSENCE POLICY: Tournament day is a Coast Guard work day. Coast Guard participants must be on leave that day, on RDO or otherwise on an excused absence in accordance with regulations.
PRIZES: Prizes will be given out to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.
MULLIGANS: Increase your chances of winning the tournament by purchasing "mulligans" during registration. Mulligans can be purchased in the following increments: One mulligan - $10. Three mulligans -$20. Proceeds will be used to support future NCR CGOA functions.

BALTIMORE:
Take BWI Parkway towards Washington for approximately 20 miles. At the 95 interchange take 95 south towards Richmond. Take Exit 7 (Branch Ave/Rt 5 S. / Waldorf). Follow Route 5 to the Coventry Way exit. At the traffic light off the exit ramp, make a left and get in the right hand lane. At the next traffic light, make a right onto Old Alexandria Ferry Road. At the 2nd traffic light make a left into the Virginia Ave Gate. For tournament participant's, you will need to show your ID for entry. Proceed up to the Gate Guard for clearance on to the Base. Make your first left and the Golf Course parking lot will be on your right.
WASHINGTON:
From The US Capitol, take South Capitol Street out of Washington. South Capitol Street changes into Suitland Parkway. Take a right onto Branch Ave/Rt 5 S. Follow Route 5 approximately 6 miles until you come to the Coventry Way exit. At the traffic light off the exit ramp, make a left and get in the right hand lane. At the next traffic light, make a right onto Old Alexandria Ferry Road. At the 2nd traffic light make a left into the Virginia Ave Gate. For tournament participant's, you will need to show your ID for entry. Proceed up to the Gate Guard for clearance on to the Base. NORTHERN VIRGINIA:
From Fairfax, Springfield, and Alexandria take 95 north towards Baltimore. Go across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Take Maryland Exit 7 (Branch Ave/Rt 5 S. / Waldorf). Follow Route 5 to the Coventry Way exit. At the traffic light off the exit ramp, make a left and get in the right hand lane. At the next traffic light, make a right onto Old Alexandria Ferry Road.
