Transition Workshop - Marketing Yourself for a Second Career

The Officers Association will be sponsoring a brown bag lunch seminar titled “Marketing Yourself for a

Second Career". The presentation is a free professional development seminar for officers, civilians, and enlisted who plan to transition from the service in the near future.

 


Presentation topics include:


- Your competition for finding a job

- Civilian employer’s perceptions of military personnel

- A plan for your job search

- Resumes, cover letters, broadcast letters


- How employers read your resume

- Networking and penetrating the hidden job market

- Preparing for and conducting a successful interview

- Salary negotiations and benefit packages

 

The event will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 1145-1245 in the CDR Ray Evans Conference Center at Coast Guard Headquarters. Colonel Terri Coles (Ret.) from the Military Officers Association will be the presenter. Mark your calendars and forward this information to your office mates, friends, and colleagues.
