The NCR Coast Guard Officer's Association (CGOA) invites you to join us in the Raymond J. Evans Conference Center, room 6i10-01c, for lunch and an excellent presentation by three retired officers, titled “Networking and Opening Doors: Assisting Your Transition From CG to Civilian Careers.” This event is open to all members of the Coast Guard team in the National Capital Region, however, seating is limited and RSVPs are requested.

On Friday, 28 August, we will host a panel of accomplished retired Coast Guard officers to lead a discussion in how to best network your way to a promising career following your retirement or separation from the Coast Guard. Lunch will be from 1130-1230 in the Ray Evans Ante-Room; the panel discussion will begin at 1230 in room 6i10-01c.

Our panelists include:

Charley Diaz is a former USCG Captain and President of Diaz LLC, Guardian Maritime Solutions. Focusing on the DHS/US Coast Guard sector, the company's independent consultants provide business development, strategic analysis, port security assessments, and program management services to a variety of clients throughout the maritime industry.

Kevin Harkins, Ph.D. graduated from CGA in 1984, served 20 years as a commissioned officer and retired from active duty as a CDR in 2004. He then co-founded and for more than a decade has led Harkcon, Inc. from start-up to a well established, growing and thriving human capital and training business with over 120 full-time Associates. He has deep experience consulting across a broad-spectrum of "people related" subject matter areas.

Fred White is a former USCG Commander and Cutterman. He is a Senior Director at ABS Consulting with extensive experience in strategy, business development, and employee mentoring.

Box lunches are available for pre-purchase through the CGOA website (www.ncrcgoa.org) when you register for the event. Lunches for CGOA members are $10, non-members are $15. Each lunch includes your choice of sandwich, piece of fruit, a snack, and a bottle of water.

Plan to join us for some fellowship, networking and a dynamic discussion.

RSVPs are required and this event is sure to fill up fast so don't delay registering. Lunch orders must be submitted no later than noon on Tuesday, 25 August.
