February 4 –Thursday 1100 -1200 End Poverty Presentation from A Wider Circle LL1 1E1-807

February 4 & 18 Thursdays 0745–1100 THRIVE DC Feed the Homeless

Feed hundreds of homeless citizens.  Join us in our monthly partnership with THRIVE DC at their soup kitchen as we lead that day’s effort.  THRIVE feeds 300 + people breakfast EVERY DAY!  We need a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 volunteers to make this a success.(Van from HQ)Contact CWO neal.s.pratt@uscg.mil to sign up. CWO Pratt is       transferring this June and we are in need of a replacement coordinator for the monthly THRIVE activity.  This is our most successful partnership and we need to keep it going.

February 13 Saturday 1100-1400 Monthly Clean-up Shepherd Parkway

Shepherd Parkway Monthly Clean-up.  This is our National Park...right next door to HQ...and one of the most neglected NPS sites in the United States.  TONS of trash over decades of neglect...we need your help. Serve breakfast to the needy. We are trying something new for those who have a hard time volunteering on weekends or evenings.  We will be serving breakfast at SOME’s O Street facility (near NoMa Metro Stop). Contact Terrence.Hill@dhs.gov to participate.

February 21 Sunday 1000-1300 Prepare meals for the homeless with Martha’s Table 2114 14th St NW

Martha's Table relies on volunteers every day to peel, chop, slice, and dice produce for our nightly, hot meal distribution to three different locations around the Washington, DC area. Contact Terrence.Hill@dhs.gov to participate.

February 25 Thursday 0800-1400 (shifts) Special Olympics Bowling Championships

Volunteers will assist with:  escorting athletes, keeping score, providing technical support and monitoring lane. This is a great event and fun for everyone.  Please contact LT Ryan.l.baxter@uscg.mil to sign up.
